Influenza (Flu)

Flu Campaign 2021

We are currently sending out invitations for our 2021 flu clinics. We are using a colour coded letter system, as we did last year.
Clinic dates and times are listed on the back of the letter. Please only attend the clinic to which your letter corresponds, and bring it with you when you have your jab.

If you have your flu jab with your local pharmacy, you do not need to inform the surgery. The pharmacy will send us the information themselves.

What is Flu?

Flu, short for influenza, is an infectious and common viral illness spread by coughs and sneezes.

It's not the same as the common cold. Flu is caused by a different group of viruses. Symptoms tend to be more severe and last longer.

You can catch flu all year round, but it is especially common in winter, which is why it is also known as "seasonal flu".

If you’re eligible for the flu vaccine get it now. It’s free because you need it. For more information see Influenza (Flu) in the Health A to Z.
